There’s a lot to like about the new Pixel 9 Pro Fold. While it’s too early to tell if it’ll dominate our best foldable phones list, in our initial Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold hands-on review, we said it sports some radical departures from its predecessor.
For instance, the main display is now 8 inches (up from 7.6 inches on last year’s Pixel Fold). The new foldable’s display is also 80% brighter with a 6.3-inch cover screen that boasts a narrower aspect ratio. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is also lighter at just over 9 ounces. However, it’s the fun AI features that’ll win you over.
- Add Me: Uses augmented reality to add someone to your photo
- Reimagine: Uses generative AI to tweak your photos on the fly using text prompts
- Pixel Studio: Lets you create images from scratch
- Pixel Screenshots: Lets you search your screenshots using natural language
- Google Gemini Live: Lets you choose from several voices to have life-like convos
It’s worth noting that the new foldable packs a 4,560 mAh battery, which is smaller than the 4,821 mAh battery in the original Fold. That said, we’ve yet to see if the new Tensor G4 chip is more power efficient. Stay tuned to Tom’s Guide for our full review and benchmarks of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
